To find a specific place in your notes, drag the blue dot on the timeline.

If you don’t want your notes to play back in real time with your recording, tap on the gear icon in the audio timeline and turn off Note Replay. Notice that your notes play back in real time with your recording.

Tap the play icon to the left of the audio’s timeline to listen to your notes.

Tap on it to display the audio’s timeline

When your recording is finished, a caret icon will display to the right of the microphone icon.

Tap the microphone icon again to stop recording.

Tap on the microphone icon on in the toolbar to start recording.

Be sure that you have permission to record audio, which is mandatory according to the Student Conduct policy and State law. Record audio while you take notes in Notability.

Download Notability for free through the Self Service app on your Digital Flagship iPad. If you are a student, this is definitely worth a try if you haven't found the must have note app for your workflow.Notability gives you multiple options for notetaking, like writing or drawing, typing and audio recordings of a lecture (just make sure to ask permission first). The web clipping feature was particularly helpful. Overall, I like Notability and it's cool features that make it stand out. I know this may not seem like a lot, but if you are trying to quickly view multiple notes quickly, Notability has some challenges with this. Even opening a note with one word in it can take a few seconds. You can even add an audio note (and geek out and change the frequency if you want!).Īs awesome as these features are, they come at a small price. Navigate to the webpage you want from within Notability and presto, it's embedded too, just like the figure.īeyond these cool features, there are subtle things as well such as the ability to tab/indent without having to do it manually and add numbered or lettered bullet points. If you want to embed a webpage, you can do that too. Once embedded in the note you can easily edit the note, resize and reposition it. You can draw free hand, change the line thickness, draw squares, circles and more.

The figure option allows you to draw your own figure and insert it into your note. But what is this? Besides just typing text you can change the font, color, emphasis and size? You can insert not only images from the Photo app, but you can also insert a figure and web clip. Tap return and you're in business to complete your note. From here you can rename the default note name (Note 1 by default) to whatever you like. Tap the compose button located on in the top right corner to begin. The note taking experience is rather pleasant.
